Its 4:45 pm and I was thinking to myself, “What should I make for dinner?”. I was thinking that I wished I could Google that and it would give me a good answer. I’ve tried before, but there never seems to be what I want. Usually, what comes up are hundreds of easy “dinner ideas” that I have to sift through. Also, since I’m a “make it from scratch” kind of girl, I usually don’t have most of the stuff on hand that a lot of popular recipes call for.
I like to be well organized and plan my dinner menus out for the week or month in advance, and half the time that even happens. Believe it or not, I have even gotten to the point where I only do one major grocery trip a month. I’ll elaborate more on that in another post, but it saves me a TON on money! Anyway, even with my good intentions, sometimes it still gets to be 4 to 5pm and I’m still wondering what to make for dinner. As it gets later and later, I am more tempted to call it a “cereal” night. So I need quick, easy, last minute meals that I can throw together from what I usually have on hand.
So I wish there was a site online that I could go to that can just give me one meal to try, with stuff I actually have on hand. If I didn’t like a particular recipe (or I didn’t have some of the main ingredients), I could just hit a different button and it would pull up something else. Or maybe I could stick the ingredients that I do have into a search box, and a recipe could be pulled up out of that.
Well, to use a well used cliche, “Necessity is the mother of invention”. So here I am, 15 minutes later, writing my first post for Whatshouldimakefordinner.net. To get started, I’m putting in 10 of my top favorite easy recipes with ideas for easy sides as well! I will continuously add new recipes and I would love your comments about easy recipes you have made last-minute on stuff you just had in your pantry. I will also be adding a section about substitutions just in case you don’t have what a recipe calls for. I hope this is helpful & fun! Please comment below and tell me what you think!
